Shipping Dangerous Goods - 500 kg Exemption

The 500 kg Exemption is an alternative to preparing shipments as fully regulated, and simplifies packaging and paperwork. However, this exemption is limited to select classes/divisions of dangerous goods for ground transport only.

500 kg Exemption shipments can be declared online or by using the Purolator E-Ship®Server by choosing the 500 kg Exemption option in the menu.

General shipping requirements:

Packaging
  • Package must not exceed 30 kg (approx. 66 lbs) in weight
  • Packaging must be sturdy and of good quality
