One or more Peak Surcharge will apply to any shipment or piece travelling through Purolator’s network during the specified peak period in accordance with the details and tables below. The applicable Peak Surcharge(s) will apply to shipments or pieces requiring Special Handling services and/or travelling to a Residential Area for delivery. Peak Surcharges apply in addition to all other rates and charges applicable to a shipment or piece. Peak Surcharges and Periods, are subject to modification, including extension, by Purolator at its discretion.
Peak Surcharges – Special Handling
Any piece determined by Purolator to require special handling service will be subject to an additional corresponding peak special handling surcharge in accordance with the table below.

* The particular peak special handling surcharge applicable to a piece is determined by the type of special handling service to be provided to that piece The type of special handling service to be provided is determined in accordance with the Purolator Terms and Conditions of Service, available at purolator.com.
** Any Special Handling Peak Surcharge applies in addition to all other Service Rate, Additional Charges or other charges applicable to the piece (including, without limitation, other Peak Surcharges, regular special handling charges and/or Taxes) and other charges applicable to the piece. Contracted discounts for regular special handling services do not apply to the corresponding Special Handing Peak Surcharge.
Peak Surcharge - Residential Area
Qualifying customers that used Purolator to service an average weekly volume of 7,000 or more pieces* may be subject to an additional Peak Residential Area Surcharge. For customers that are qualified, a Peak Residential Area Surcharge will apply to shipments serviced by Purolator, from Nov. 3, 2024 through Jan. 18, 2025, for delivery to a Residential Area^.
Purolator will contact qualifying customers subject to this additional charge^^ in advance of the effective peak period.
* Determined using the average weekly volume of cumulative pieces tendered for service within May 26, 2024-Jun 29, 2024 invoicing cycles.
^ Peak Residential Area surcharge will apply to each shipment serviced by Purolator during the effective peak period travelling to a Residential Area (as described in the Purolator Terms and Conditions of Service, available at purolator.com), as determined by Purolator.
^^ Peak Residential Area surcharge applies in addition to all other Service Rates, Additional Charges and other charges applicable to the shipment (including, without limitation, regular Residential Area, Signature Required, other Peak Surcharges and/or Taxes).
