Together, we create change: Celebrating Pride Month at Purolator

June 20, 2025

At Purolator, we believe that every story shared is a step toward a more inclusive and connected workplace. This Pride Month, we’re proud to spotlight two 2SLGBTQ+ employees, who are using their voices and experiences to build up a culture of advocacy and authenticity.

Spotlight on Cory Haslett, Shipment Resolutions Representative, North Bay, Ont

Cory Haslett (they/them) began their Purolator journey in seasonal retail in 2021. In May 2025, they stepped into the Shipment Resolutions Representative (SRR) role at the North Bay depot, handling shipment issues, customer support, and delivery challenges, especially in rural and secure-access areas.

But Cory’s impact goes far beyond logistics. In their day-to-day role and as a volunteer, they are helping to build a more inclusive workplace. This Pride Month, we’re reflecting on the theme “Together, we create change”, highlighting the collective power of individuals and teams in advancing inclusivity and equity and creating a safer and more welcoming environment.

Cory’s advocacy is rooted in personal experience, having navigated their own gender journey and worked in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) roles in the past. They recall the process of learning the language they needed to validate their identity, advocating for themselves in various academic and professional settings, and the importance of having support throughout that process.

“Visibility matters,” Cory says. “It helps others recognize and validate their own experiences.”

Cory credits Purolator’s strong stance on diversity as a key reason they feel supported and seen, especially after since some organizations have publicly scaled back their DEIB programs in recent months.

“It’s rare to see a for-profit company take such a firm position on inclusion,” they note.

Advice for Pride Month

“If you’re an ally, wear a pronoun pin. It helps normalize it for those of us who need to wear one. Wearing a pronoun pin even if your pronouns get assumed correctly makes me feel less othered for wearing one.”

Cory also encourages those navigating identity at work to do so in a way and at a pace that feels right for them.

“You don’t have to come out immediately or to everyone. And it’s okay not to come out at all if you don’t feel safe, or if you just don’t want to. Your journey is your own, but I would greatly encourage you to find community outside of work where you can be fully yourself, because everyone deserves that chance.”

“Together, we create change” isn’t just a theme, it’s a shared responsibility. And Cory is helping lead the way.

Spotlight on Dawn Bosse, Customer Care Agent, Moncton, N.-B.

Dawn Bosse (she/her) is a dedicated team member in Purolator’s Trace team. Her role requires persistence and collaboration, traits she applies not only to her role as a customer care agent, but also to her advocacy and allyship.

When she began her social transition at work, Dawn found compassion and resources in the Human Resources (HR) department. With the support of HR, the DEIB team and her supervisor, Dawn was able to update her name and pronouns across communications and client interactions. This seamless support made a world of difference.

“The acceptance I felt from my colleagues was incredible,” Dawn shares. “Everyone used my name and pronouns without hesitation. It made me feel seen and respected.”

That sense of belonging is what drives Dawn to share her story.

“In a time when misunderstanding and hate still exist, sharing our experiences helps others learn and feel less alone.”

Dawn is taking an active role in shaping a more inclusive future at Purolator. Her vision for Purolator includes greater awareness of resources and more access to DEIB content.

When asked what being an ally means, Dawn’s answer was simple yet powerful: “It’s about respect. Even if you don’t fully understand someone’s experience, you can still stand beside them.”

As we celebrate Pride Month under the theme “Together, we create change,” Dawn reminds us that change begins with listening, learning, and lifting each other up.

We celebrate the lived experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ colleagues and the diversity that makes Purolator such a vibrant community. Let’s celebrate Pride Month together as allies, recognizing that change comes from working together.
