Purolator named one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2023

Company also receives prestigious Hall of Fame designation for its fourth Canada’s Most Admired win

November 23, 2023

TORONTO, Nov. 23, 2023 — Purolator was recognized today as one of Canada’s Most Admired™ Corporate Cultures for 2023. Now in its 20th year, the program recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having cultures that enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage. As a fourth-time recipient of the award, Purolator also earned the program’s prestigious Hall of Fame designation this year.

“Purolator has made significant investments in our leadership and culture, which has been the primary driver of our success,” said John Ferguson, President and CEO, Purolator. “This year’s award and Hall of Fame designation underscores the dedication and collaborative spirit of our people, and further reflects our commitment to cultivating a culture of leadership, collaboration and inclusion. This dedication is the driving force of our unique culture, and I couldn’t be more proud of our team for this recognition – and for making Purolator an amazing place to work.”

Performance, leadership, inclusion and sustainability are some of the attributes that have shaped Purolator’s culture. Recent accomplishments include:

  • Increased employee engagement to 80 percent – a major achievement in the post-pandemic era, a time when many organizations were experiencing employee retention challenges.
  • Launched Purolator Health – an industry-leading program focused on improving access to resources that support physical, mental and social well-being.
  • Achieved its safest year on record – with a 42 percent improvement in lost-time injury frequency.

Purolator’s purpose-driven culture is also fueled by innovation, continuous improvement and its support of the broader community. This year, the company announced its largest network investment in its history – $1 billion to electrify its Canadian network. It also celebrated the 20th anniversary of its employee-led Purolator Tackle Hunger® program, which has raised 20 million pounds of food for food banks across Canada.

Canada’s Most Admired Awards, presented by Waterstone Human Capital, is one of several accolades Purolator has earned this year. Other recognitions include an OHS Culture Award and Silver Award for the Psychologically Safe Workplace, being named to Forbes lists of Canada's Best Employers and Canada’s Best Employers For Diversity, and the Indeed for Business inaugural Better Work Award.
