First introduced in 2019 as Recipient Solutions, Purolator Your Way™ empowers receivers to have more control over their package deliveries. Through a series of customer-friendly SMS/text messages, customers can track their packages, set delivery preferences, authorize Purolator to leave packages without a signature, and more.

Purolator Your Way allows your customers to:

  1. See the most up-to-date status of your shipment.
  2. Set delivery preferences (e.g., deliver to front door, side door, garage) and, if applicable, a buzzer code.
  3. Pick up their packages at a Purolator Shipping Centre or Authorized Shipping Agent by showing the digital doorknocker on their phone – no need to come back the next day with the paper copy.
  4. Provide Purolator with the authorization to drop off most packages that typically require a signature. Purolator is unable to leave shipments that require government-issued identification with proof of age according to provincial age of majority (e.g. for shipments involving narcotics and firearms)

Purolator Your Way allows your customers to:

  5. Address correction in case of incorrect address has been provided.
  6. Request for Pick-Up (HFPU) to pick up your packages later from a Purolator retail location.

Delivery updates will automatically be sent via SMS to the recipient’s phone using the number they provided.

No. Purolator Your Way is accessible only by clicking the links sent to receivers via SMS/text message.

Recipients can change or correct a delivery address before the package is delivered by using the link provided within the Purolator Your Way shipment tracking message and following the below mentioned steps:

  1. Select Request Address Change option under Delivery Address. Users will then be redirected to Purolator Virtual Assistant to confirm the change.
  2. Click on confirm to update the address.   
  3. Address will be updated and reflected in the PYW user interface. 

Recipients can have a package held for pick-up at a Purolator location or a participating retail partner by using the link provided by Purolator Your Way shipment tracking message and following the below mentioned steps: 

  1. Select Hold for pick-up in Purolator Your Way web application. User will be redirected to Purolator Virtual Assistant to choose from 3 nearest retail locations to the recipient.
  2. Select and confirm one of the retail location where you want the package to be held for pickup. 
  3. We will send a confirmation message when the package is available for pick up. 

Users can also request to redirect your package and held at Purolator location through our Purolator Virtual Assistant or customer care.

No. Purolator Your Way is accessible only by clicking the links sent to receivers via SMS/text message.

Recipients will receive Purolator Your Way SMS/text notifications for shipments destined to U.S. addresses, but cannot set delivery preferences (e.g., deliver to front door, side door or garage). Purolator Your Way is not available for shipments destined to addresses outside North America.

Shipments destined to the U.S. addresses cannot set delivery preferences. Purolator Your Way is not available for the shipments destined to the addresses outside of Canada. 

Recipients need to simply bring their phone (with the digital doorknocker code) and a piece of government-issued ID that includes their name and address to the Purolator pick-up location listed on the digital doorknocker.

There are exceptions. Purolator is unable to leave shipments that require government-issued identification with proof of age according to provincial age of majority (e.g. for shipments involving narcotics and firearms).

Recipients can choose from a pre-set list of delivery locations, including: front desk, front door, garage, mailroom, porch, rear door, reception, shipping dock or side door. They can also specify door colour or direction (e.g., left, right) under “Additional Delivery Instructions.”

Unfortunately, we are unable to customize which messages the recipient receives. This is something we are considering for future updates. A recipient can opt out of all SMS/text message notifications by replying and texting the word “END” to any text message from Purolator to no longer receive updates.

At this time, SMS/text notifications will be sent to any of your receivers who have provided a mobile number.

No, it does not matter which shipping channel you use – the Purolator Your Way receiver experience is the same across all channels.
