Purolator Tackle Hunger National Red Bag campaign returns with more ways to give

TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2026— Purolator today kicked off its fourth annual Purolator Tackle Hunger^® National Red Bag campaign, bringing together employees, customers and communities across Canada and the United States to support local food banks.

During September and October, Purolator volunteers will distribute more than 66,000 reusable Red Bags across 21 communities and return to collect donations of non-perishable food for delivery to participating food banks.

New this year, people can support local food banks through a virtual Red Bag, making it easier for those who do not receive a Red Bag to participate in the campaign.

Since expanding into a national initiative in 2023, the National Red Bag Campaign has helped provide more than 515,000 meals to people in need.

“Food insecurity is a growing challenge in communities across Canada, and addressing it takes all of us,” said John Ferguson, President and CEO, Purolator. “The National Red Bag Campaign brings people together around a simple but powerful goal: helping more families put food on the table. I’m incredibly proud of how our employees and partners continue to put the strength of Purolator’s national network behind that goal, turning generosity into action where it’s needed most.”

The campaign takes place during Hunger Action Month, a national initiative that raises awareness about food insecurity and encourages people to take action. This month alone, food banks in Canada will see nearly 2.2 million visits, the highest number on record, and one third of visitors are children.

Support like this helps food banks respond to growing demand and provide food and essential support to people across the country.”

Since its inception in 2003, the grassroots Purolator Tackle Hunger program has delivered more than 27 million meals to food banks across Canada.

How people in Canada can help tackle hunger: 

• If you receive a bag:

  Please fill the Red Bag with non-perishable food donations and place it on your doorstep before the pick-up time indicated on the bag insert.

• Online and in-person donations to Food Banks Canada:

  Those who do not receive a Red Bag can support the campaign by “filling” a virtual Red Bag through an online monetary donation to Food Banks Canada. Non-perishable food donations can also be brought to any Purolator Shipping Centre across Canada. Individuals can find a store near them by using the Purolator Locator tool on purolator.com.

The 2026 Purolator Tackle Hunger National Red Bag campaign will take place in many Canadian communities.
