TORONTO, Nov. 15, 2017 – Purolator expects to handle increased shipping volumes this holiday season and will move approximately one million packages on both of its busiest shipping dates: Cyber Monday and Dec. 4. The company’s second-busiest shipping date, Dec. 4, falls earlier than in past years and speaks to a growing consumer trend of online shopping.
According to a recent survey conducted by Purolator and Leger, Canadian retailers began their preparations earlier this holiday season to keep up with rising demand and to ensure shipments arrive on time. Almost nine in 10 retailers (89 per cent) said e-commerce created new customer-buying patterns, resulting in early holiday planning.
Purolator anticipates it will move approximately 20 million packages this peak season and says it began planning earlier for the increased volume.
