We are proud to have delivered more than two million packages using our electric vehicles—an important milestone in our fleet electrification journey. As part of our 2030 science-based goal to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 42 per cent, we are working toward electrifying 60 per cent of our last-mile delivery vehicles.
We have now deployed more than 200 all-electric delivery vehicles at 12 sites across Canada. Our fleet comprises Ford E-Transit™, Motiv Power Systems EPIC4 and BrightDrop Zevo 600 models, as well as electric cargo bikes and low-speed vehicles.
“It’s really important for us to be investing in environmentally sustainable solutions for both our fleet and our operations,” said Cindy Bailey, Corporate Sustainability Officer, Purolator. “We’re celebrating reaching two million packages delivered by EVs because it is a big step forward in reducing our GHG emissions and creating a more sustainable future.”
“It’s validation of our commitment made just a few short years ago to be the greenest courier in Canada,” said Joe Lombardo, Vice President, Network Operations, Purolator. “And it demonstrates that our investment in these technologies is actually working for our communities and our customers.”
Purolator continues to invest in innovative ways to minimize our environmental impacts and reduce emissions such as procuring renewable electricity and renewable diesel, deploying alternative-fuel vehicles and low-carbon transportation, optimizing delivery routes and reducing waste.
