Mr. Lapointe is founder of, and President and Chief Executive Officer for, Kelowna Flightcraft Air Charter Ltd., one of the first air services providers to the Canadian courier industry and currently the operator of the largest fleet of freighter aircraft in Canada. Mr. Lapointe has also served as a director and officer of the Airline Transport Association of Canada, and, earlier in his career, served as Chief Engineer for Air B.C. (formerly Air West Airlines). He has a life-long interest in aviation and holds a Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Airline Transport Rated pilots license and a Transport Canada, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (AME) since 1969. In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of aviation, Mr. Lapointe was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and has received numerous other awards, including the UBC Okanagan Business Leader of the Year award in 2007, the Pacific Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association Engineer of the Year Award in 2005, the Aerospace Training Innovator Award in 2002 and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Pacific Region) in 1998. Mr. Lapointe graduated from the BCIT in 1967.
