In 2012, Purolator exceeded our goal of helping to collect the equivalent of 1 million pounds of food in our 10th season of the Purolator Tackle Hunger® (PTH) program.
The PTH program saw Purolator employees, partners and Canadian Football League (CFL) fans come together to collect over 1 million pounds of food for local food banks across Canada. This amount was a 23 per cent increase over the amount collected in the previous season. The goal of helping to raise the equivalent of 1 million pounds of food was set in 2012 to commemorate the 10th season of Purolator’s successful PTH program.
Purolator’s PTH program was recognized by Food Banks Canada in the category of Top National Food Drives for 2012 under its 2012 Corporate Donor Awards. Since its inception, the PTH program has raised the equivalent of 5.5 million pounds of food for local food banks across Canada. According to Food Banks Canada, almost 900,000 Canadians, 38 per cent of whom are children, rely on food banks every month.
As part of the 10th season of the PTH program, Purolator also donated 10 refurbished curbsider delivery vehicles to select food banks across Canada.
