Purolator continues to experience extraordinary Peak Season volumes, with unprecedented demand for our transportation services, causing a surge in residential deliveries and special handling services. As a result, we continue to make strategic investments across our network to increase our ability to meet our customers’ service expectations.

To support these ongoing investments, effective January 17, 2021, and until further notice, one or more of the Peak Surcharges set out and described below will apply to shipments using a corresponding Applicable Service*. Peak Surcharges apply in addition to any existing shipping rates and surcharges to the applicable shipment.

Peak Season periods and Peak Surcharges are subject to any modification by Purolator at its discretion.

* Each Applicable Service is as described in the Purolator Terms and Conditions of Service, available at www.purolator.com.

** Each Peak Season Surcharge will be applied in addition to the customer’s existing surcharge for the Applicable Service (e.g., Peak Additional Handling surcharge will be applied in addition to the customer’s Additional Handling surcharge). Contracted discounts for Applicable Services will not apply to the Peak Season Surcharge for the corresponding service.

Peak Surcharge - Residential Area

Qualifying customers who meet a cumulative average weekly volume threshold of 5,000 shipments serviced to a Residential Area, at any point during a Purolator weekly invoicing period effective from Nov. 16, 2020 to current, will be subject to an additional Peak Residential Area surcharge based on the customer’s percentage Peak Growth Level.1 The Peak Growth Level measures the customer’s average weekly serviced shipment volume to a Residential Area within the Peak Period against its comparable February 2020 volume or a baseline provided by Purolator.2 The amount of the Peak Residential Area Surcharge to apply during the effective period is set out in the table below. Calculations and applicability as are determined by Purolator at its sole discretion.

1 Once the threshold has been achieved, over any single Purolator billing week as of Nov. 16, 2020, the Peak Residential Area Surcharge will apply for the remainder of this peak period for the Applicable Service(s), based on the Peak Growth Level, including if Customer’s average weekly volume at any time drops below the 5,000 shipment threshold. Customer volume is inclusive of any affiliated and/or related accounts, as determined by Purolator in its sole discretion.

2 The Peak Residential Area Surcharge applies to all applicable shipments exceeding 110% of the customer’s average weekly volume for the Applicable Service(s) for Feb. 2 through Feb. 29, 2020, as determined by Purolator in its sole discretion. Customers without February 2020 average weekly volume figures will be provided a baseline by Purolator. For weeks that are not full Purolator operating weeks, shipment volumes and surcharge calculations will be applied on a prorated basis, as determined by Purolator in its sole discretion.

4 Peak Residential Area Surcharge will be applied in addition to the customer’s existing Residential Area surcharge (for a shipment to a Residential Area) and/or Signature Required surcharge (for a signature required shipment to a Residential Area). Contracted discounts will not apply to the Peak Residential Area surcharge for the corresponding service. The weekly average will be assessed by Purolator at its discretion on a week-by-week basis during the effective period.

Any applicable Peak Surcharge will be consolidated into, and invoiced as, a sum flat charge for each applicable Purolator invoicing period. Each consolidated charge will be invoiced separately from the original charge for the applicable shipment or piece and will be applied across subsequent and separate invoices.
