Return Services

Outbound Return Services – Within Canada

Purolator offers customers the ability to create return shipping labels to be included with their outbound shipment or provided to the customer at a later date. Simply login to Purolator E-Ship™ Online or Purolator E-Ship™ Server and generate return shipping labels at no additional charge.

 

Returns Management Service

This redesigned product offering enables customers to create return shipping labels with Purolator E-Ship Server without an associated shipment. A maximum of five return labels can either be printed and sent to the customer, or e-mailed as an attachment at no additional charge.

 

ExpressCheque® - $12.00 per Shipment

An innovative alternative to cash on delivery (COD) shipments, this service provides a convenient way for you to collect payment for goods being shipped within Canada. Simply use an ExpressCheque Bill of Lading and envelope and attach them to your package. Upon delivery, payment* will be collected by the courier, enclosed in an ExpressCheque envelope, and will be immediately expedited to you. This service ensures you receive faster payment – within days of your customer receiving your shipment.

 

*Acceptable forms of payment are cheques, postdated cheques, money orders and bank drafts. Purolator makes no representation regarding the validity of the cheque received and assumes no liability in the event the cheque is not honoured. See Purolator’s Terms and Conditions for details.

 

Dangerous Goods - $35.00 per Shipment

Regulated materials which require special handling and documentation. Purolator is committed to providing safe and secure transport of all packages containing regulated Dangerous Goods while complying with all legislative requirements, industry standards and Purolator's quality policy.

 

Chain of Signature (COS) - $12.00 per Piece

Purolator provides signature controlled, secure transport of controlled items such as narcotics and firearms that fall under specific regulatory rules. Purolator is committed to providing a controlled movement service for "Chain of Signature" COS shipments that conforms to government regulations for the security and safe transportation of all Firearms and Controlled Narcotics in Canada.

Saturday Service - $19.00 per Shipment

When the workweek is over, but you still need a package picked up or delivered on Saturday, rely on Purolator Saturday Service. Purolator offers guaranteed delivery by 5 p.m. (8 p.m. in the U.S.) Saturday (shipment picked up on Friday) or by 5 p.m. Monday (shipment picked up on Saturday) or your money back.* Shipment destination must be a Saturday Service guaranteed 5 p.m. (8 p.m. in the U.S.) delivery point from the point of origin. Saturday pick up for Monday delivery is not available for U.S. destinations.

 

Brokerage Services

When you ship with Purolator Express™ U.S. or Purolator Express™ International, the brokerage fee is included. Other ancillary fees, duties and/or taxes may apply depending on the type and value of the commodity, and will be invoiced separately by Purolator’s designated broker. For Purolator Ground U.S. shipments valued at less than USD $200.00 (excluding controlled or regulated goods), Purolator will also pay your brokerage fee, saving you time and money. For ground shipments valued at USD $200.00 or more, Purolator’s brokers will clear your shipment, with all applicable brokerage charges and duties billed separately (to you designate). Alternatively, you can use your own customs broker.

 

Special Handling - $12.00 per Piece

Purolator recognizes that customers often have items to ship that do not conform to our regular package specifications. We are usually able to accommodate your requirements, whether it's a one-time event or a regularly occurring shipment. You can rely on Purolator to manage the process smoothly and effectively.

 

As conveyor systems at our processing facilities are often not suitable for certain items such as heavy weight packages or non-packaged goods, we manually handle these items – with one or two people, using specialized equipment.

 

Items which require “Special Handling”, include without limitation:

  • Non-Packaged Items – Unboxed items (excluding Purolator Express™ Envelopes, Purolator Express™ Packs, totes and document shipments) or items not fully encased in a suitable shipping container including, but not limited to, tires, pails and shrink-wrapped items.
  • Over-Weight Pieces – Items that exceed 70 lbs. Over-weight pieces require Heavy Weight service to be pre-arranged. See Purolator’s Terms and Conditions for full details or call 1 888 SHIP-123.
  • Over-Sized Pieces – Items that equal or exceed five feet in length, or exceed an overall package size of 165 inches (length + 2 x height + 2 x width).
  • Unsuitable Items – Items which, due to their nature (size, shape, packaging, contents) are deemed by Purolator to be unsuitable for sorting and/or handling using Purolator’s automated systems (e.g. ball bearings, nuts, bolts, fasteners, liquids, wooden or metal crates, etc.).

Hold For Pickup

Customers may request that a shipment be held at Purolator’s delivery depot closest to the receiver’s address for in-person pick up, in place of having the shipment delivered to the delivery address indicated on the Bill of Lading.*

 

Notice of Delivery

We understand the importance of flexibility in meeting customer requirements, so we leave a “notice of delivery” door hanger when no one is available to sign for your package. This notifies the recipient of our delivery attempt and provides the information required for the recipient to pick up their package at a nearby Purolator Shipping Centre or Shipping Agent location within Canada, or at one of our partner locations around the world.

 

Signature Not Required

We offer “signature not required” (SNR) services within Canada, that authorize drop offs without a signature. SNR service can also be arranged by the originator of the shipment (OSNR service). This prearranged agreement with either the shipper or the receiver of the goods offers your customers and you added convenience and flexibility.
