CFL and Purolator extend partnership
Canada’s largest courier company to continue as official courier of the CFL
The Canadian Football League (CFL) and Purolator announced today an extended multi-year partnership which sees Canada’s largest courier company maintain its designation as the Official Courier of the CFL. The announcement was made during the Commissioner’s Luncheon in Vancouver, BC. The event is held every year on Grey Cup Sunday, with the last three years being presented by Purolator.
Under the terms of the new agreement, Purolator continues as the presenting sponsor of the Grey Cup Commissioner’s Luncheon. New to the deal is the company’s title sponsorship of the CFL’s Live Play-by-Play feature on www.cfl.ca. Purolator’s Sack Tally, an integral part of the Purolator Tackle Hunger initiative, will return in 2006 through to 2008, with exposure in broadcast on TSN and online at www.cfl.ca, with weekly tracking of CFL quarterback sacks.
“As a leading Canadian brand, we are proud to have Purolator on our partnership roster and excited to have them back for an additional three years as the Official Courier of the CFL,” said Commissioner Tom Wright, CFL. “These past three years have been a textbook example of how a property and a sponsor can work together to truly deliver value to not just one another but the communities in which we work, live and play."
Purolator is committed to alleviating hunger across Canada through the Purolator Tackle Hunger program and other national initiatives. The Purolator Tackle Hunger program, through the involvement of Purolator employees, customers and CFL fans has raised the equivalent of more than 670,000 pounds of food for food banks across Canada, in the first three years of the program. The continued partnership with the CFL will help to provide much needed food for those in need across Canada.
"Purolator is extremely pleased to renew its partnership with such an outstanding Canadian organization as the CFL,” said Bob Johnson, president and C.E.O. of Purolator Courier Ltd. “The commitment to the Purolator Tackle Hunger program by our employees, customers and CFL fans over the past three years has generated outstanding results. Over the next three years, we look forward to working with the League and all nine CFL teams to continue to drive away hunger in communities across Canada."
