Daily Bread Food Bank recognizes Purolator as a Third Party Contributor of the Year

Purolator Courier Ltd. has received the Third Party Contributor of the Year award from the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto.

For the past five years Purolator has partnered with the Daily Bread Food Bank to raise funds for local food banks through various fundraising initiatives, including the Purolator Tackle Hunger program. As part of Purolator’s larger commitment to drive away hunger in Canada, Purolator Tackle Hunger is a food drive campaign that aims to increase food donations for local food banks across Canada.

Over the past year, Purolator has held a series of food drives in the Greater Toronto Area – raising the equivalent of 73, 000 pounds of food for the Daily Bread Food Bank, a 9 per cent increase.

“Purolator has been a proud supporter of the Daily Bread Food Bank since 2003,” said Brian Meagher, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. “It is an honour to receive the Third Party Contributor of the Year award for our commitment to alleviating hunger in Canada.

Since 2003, Purolator has helped deliver 1.5 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada, equivalent to 500 Purolator delivery trucks.
