Purolator Courier Ltd. and the Teamsters union to resume negotiations

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 30, 2008 – Purolator Courier Ltd. and Teamsters Canada are resuming discussions today to resolve outstanding issues in negotiating a new collective agreement for Purolator’s couriers, dock workers, transport truck drivers and owner/operators across Canada.

On April 29, 2008, the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Federal Minister of Labour, requested that both parties resume discussions and continue to work towards a resolution without a work disruption. This request was made after Purolator’s employees represented by the Teamsters rejected a tentative agreement by a very narrow margin during a national vote.

“We welcome the opportunity to work with the Teamsters to reach an agreement that is beneficial for our employees as well as Purolator,” said Stephen Gould, Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Purolator.

Business continues to operate as usual at Purolator.
