As Canada’s largest courier company, Purolator Inc. acknowledges its responsibility to protect employees from injury or occupational disease, sustain a healthy workplace for its employees and manage the environmental effects associated with its operations.  In order to accomplish this Purolator has established a comprehensive environment, health and safety program that includes policies and procedures to incorporate environmental, occupational health and safety, workplace violence prevention, driving and vehicle safety issues as an integral part of its management process. Purolator is committed to meet or exceed applicable laws and regulations.

 

Purolator promotes environment, health and safety through the implementation of workplace health and safety committees, as well as investigation of all accidents and conditions which could lead to accidents. Employee qualifications and licensing requirements are identified and maintained through recruitment and selection procedures, employees are trained on safety issues such as defensive driving, manual material handling, transportation of dangerous goods and safe methods.

 

Purolator conducts ongoing environment, health and safety audits of our operations to verify compliance, identify issues and remedy deficiencies to mitigate risks. Purolator’s Board of Directors’ Governance, Environment, Health and Safety Committee oversees the implementation of the environment, health and safety program. The company’s Environment, Health & Safety Steering Committee, which is comprised of senior management representatives, is responsible for the ongoing operation of policies, programs and reviewing performance.
