Purolator’s truck donation to Neighbour 2 Neighbour Centre will help the centre expand its services to reach more people in Hamilton Mountain
Hamilton, ON, November 12, 2013 – Purolator Inc., Canada’s leading integrated courier and parcel solutions provider, today donated a refurbished curbside delivery vehicle to Neighbour 2 Neighbour (N2N) Centre – a grassroots poverty-prevention organization that offers practical programs to the community of Hamilton Mountain. The donated truck, containing produce that is most-needed by N2N, will help the centre fill the need to reach more people and more places using its services in Hamilton.
“Purolator is happy to support Neighbour 2 Neighbour’s efforts through our truck donation. We appreciate the increasing demands experienced by Neighbour 2 Neighbour, being the only food bank in Hamilton Mountain,” said James Elias, Purolator’s General Manager of Operations, Greater Ontario. “Our hope is that with this truck, Neighbour 2 Neighbour will be able to expand its reach in Hamilton and help more families in need.”
On average, about 1,300 families visit Neighbour 2 Neighbour each month. The food bank currently relies on just one van to support all its pickup and delivery needs.
“This timely donation is a much-needed and welcome addition to the Neighbour 2 Neighbour Centre,” said Denise Arkell, Executive Director, Neighbour 2 Neighbour Centre. “Many of our clients live on the mountain and spend up to an hour on the road just to get to our food bank. Having this truck will allow us to deliver what they need to them instead – saving our clients time and money on travel.”
